Extraction Clean

Extraction systems have always been under the spotlight but now so more then ever, with insurers taking a firm standpoint on amending their policies and stipulating that the kitchen extract system must be cleaned at least once a year. Failure to do so, will give your insurers power to reject a claim. In addition to liability claims, failure to minimise fire risk may also result in an Environmental Health Officer closing down the kitchen.

You are legally obliged to show the relevant duty of care and mitigate the consequences of any hazard or risk. Although out of sight, it is paramount that the duty of care includes the maintenance and cleaning of the grease extraction system.

Deep Clean

Cooking in commercial kitchens generates airborne grease, carbon and steam, which can condense on the inner walls of a kitchen. If regular cleaning is not performed these deposits build up, reducing airflow, creating foul odours and creating a significant fire hazard

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 stipulates that by law the person responsible for the business premise must carry out a fire risk assessment and implement and maintain a fire management plan. Putting in place regular kitchen cleaning will help to satisfy this law and remove the most common cause of fires within the kitchen.
